The state budget was passed by the General Assembly – on time -- for the first time -- under this administration although the Governor did not sign it into law until after the June 30th deadline. However, my frustration with the $28 billion spending plan for fiscal year 2010-2011 resulted on many levels, despite its timeliness.
Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program Extends Deadline Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program application deadline is being extended from June 30 to December 31, 2010 to ensure sufficient time for eligible Pennsylvanians to apply for the rebate program, according to the PA Department of Revenue.

A Note of Caution on Modifying Mortgages Mortgage modification offers may sound tempting, until the consumer is hit by unexpected fees. Homeowners are being misled into believing there are companies associated with the federal government or the federal stimulus package that are prepared to help those in financial distress. The Pennsylvania Department of Banking (DOB) points out consumers are being charged for services otherwise free through professional housing counseling agencies certified by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA).
